Apple tops the list yet again- Have a look at the highest selling smartphones for the year 2018 in the world!
The research company named Counterpoint recently released a remarkable Market Pulse report which listed the top-selling smartphones of the first quarter of the year 2018. Unsurprisingly, the wildly popular Apple and Samsung smartphones bagged many positions in the list, followed closely by the Chinese electronics companies Oppo and Xiaomi.
Here’s the list of top 7 highest selling smartphones, accounting for a large chunk of profits made by the smartphone industry in 2018’s very first quarter:
#1 Apple iPhone X
Generating about 35 per cent of total smartphone industry profit by one of their new releases, Apple conveniently counterted downfall rumors with a spectacular success. The first three months of the year 2018 have done well for Apple iPhone X with the company’s brand loyals sticking firm to their choices. The iOS operating smartphone, with its prices soaring new heights, was titled one of the most profitable phones in the history of smartphone sales.
#2 Apple iPhone 8 Plus
Followed at the second position after the iPhone X is yet again another Apple smartphone release, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus bagging approximately 15.2 per cent of overall profit generated by the smartphone industry in the first quarter of the year 2018. It did create a whole lot of buzz before its launch back in September 2017. Apple iPhone 8 stands at the position of third most profitable smartphones of the year.
#3 Xiaomi Redmi 5A
Renowned for quality at budget-friendly prices, Xiaomi stands at the third position for highest selling smartphones of 2018. Xiaomi Redmi 5A sports the Nougat Android system with two vairants of 2GB and 3GB RAM. Xiaomi paced up its sales enormously in the last four years, gaining a prestigious place for itself in the most popular smartphones of the year. The quality and overall performance it offers at minimal price is worthy of appreciation. 5A’s quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC and 5 inch LED display appears to have appealed to a huge customer base
#4 Oppo A83
Oppo with its selfie focused smartphone launches has managed to step ahead of Samsung in the highest selling smartphones list. A83 was observed to have sharp performance coupled with a 5.7″ IPS LCD display. The smartphone was priced at INR 10, 360 for the 3GB RAM model with 2.5GHz octa-core processor. The chinese smartphone company has undoubtedly gained widespread success in the last few years.
#5 Samsung Galaxy S9
Samsung’s 2018 flagship smartphone model Galaxy S9 with 3000 mAh battery and a pleasantly bright 5.80-inch display managed to bag the fifth position in highest selling smartphones of 2018’s first quarter. Although the south-korean smartphone giant Samsung did stumble down two positions since 2017, its rapport in the industry is anticipated to remain intact.
#6 Samsung Galaxy S9+
Launched alongside Samsung Galaxy S9 in February 2018 on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress, S9+ with its 6.20-inch touchscreen display and selfie-suited 12 megapixel back and 8 megapixel front camera lens. The two smartphones gained immense popularity prior to their launch and were immediately cleared off stock at release.
#7 Apple iPhone 8
Garnering 19.8 percent of overall profits made by the smartphone industry in initial months of 2018, another of Apple’s recent releases has bagged the seventh position in the list. Being Apple’s prevalent flagship model, iPhone 8 also happens to be the cheapest of three Apple releases in 2018.
